Foreign Exchange Rates for Import Duty, VAT/LGST, Export Duty, and Income Tax Settlement Period 12-18 August 2026

Minister of Finance Decree Number 37/MK/EF.2/2026 establishes the Foreign Exchange Rates (Nilai Kurs) as the basis for settlement of Import Duty, Value Added Tax on Goods and Services and Luxury Goods Sales Tax, Export Duty, and Income Tax applicable for the period of 12 August 2026 to 18 August 2026. This decree is part of the routine weekly mechanism of the Ministry of Finance to convert transaction values denominated in foreign currencies into Rupiah for the purposes of calculating customs and tax obligations.

This decree lists exchange rates for 25 foreign currencies, including the US Dollar (USD) at Rp17,960.00, Euro (EUR) at Rp20,716.89, British Pound Sterling (GBP) at Rp24,172.99, Japanese Yen (JPY per 100) at Rp11,382.99, as well as other currencies such as Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Danish Krone, Hong Kong Dollar, Malaysian Ringgit, New Zealand Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Singapore Dollar, Swedish Krona, Swiss Franc, Myanmar Kyat, Indian Rupee, Kuwaiti Dinar, Pakistani Rupee, Philippine Peso, Saudi Arabian Riyal, Sri Lankan Rupee, Thai Baht, Brunei Dollar, Chinese Renminbi, and Korean Won.

For foreign currencies not listed, the decree stipulates that the applicable exchange rate is the daily spot rate of the relevant foreign currency in the international market against the US Dollar as of the previous business day's closing, multiplied by the Rupiah-to-USD exchange rate as established in this decree.

This decree took effect from 12 August 2026 to 18 August 2026, and represents a continuation of the routine weekly exchange rate policy regularly issued by the Ministry of Finance based on various tax and customs legal foundations in force.

Minister of Finance Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 37/MK/EF.2/2026 dated 10 August 2026 was established to fulfill the need for settlement of Import Duty, Value Added Tax on Goods and Services and Luxury Goods Sales Tax, Export Duty, and Income Tax on transactions involving the import of goods, tax debts, or income received or earned in the form of foreign currency, which must first be valued into Indonesian Rupiah.

The legal basis for this decree includes Law Number 7 of 1983 on Income Tax as last amended by Law Number 7 of 2021 on Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP); Law Number 8 of 1983 on VAT and LGST as last amended by the HPP Law; Law Number 10 of 1995 on Customs as amended by Law Number 17 of 2006; Law Number 11 of 1995 on Excise as last amended by the HPP Law; Presidential Decree Number 42 of 2025 on Joint Leave; Minister of Finance Regulation Number 227/PMK.04/2015 on Currency Exchange Rates for Calculation and Payment of Import Duty; MoF Regulation Number 124 of 2024 on Organization and Work Procedures of the Ministry of Finance; and Minister of Finance Decree Number 167 of 2025 on Delegation of Ministerial Authority.

Dictum ONE establishes the exchange rates for 25 foreign currencies applicable for the period 12-18 August 2026, namely: USD Rp17,960.00; AUD Rp12,644.50; CAD Rp12,814.96; DKK Rp2,771.30; HKD Rp2,289.67; MYR Rp4,387.19; NZD Rp10,565.87; NOK Rp1,883.25; GBP Rp24,172.99; SGD Rp14,014.80; SEK Rp1,887.50; CHF Rp22,190.73; JPY (per 100) Rp11,382.99; MMK Rp8.54; INR Rp188.53; KWD Rp58,041.36; PKR Rp64.60; PHP Rp294.80; SAR Rp4,782.41; LKR Rp53.53; THB Rp540.71; BND Rp14,011.09; EUR Rp20,716.89; CNY Rp2,661.06; and KRW Rp12.61.

Dictum TWO stipulates that in the case of other foreign currencies not listed in Dictum ONE, the exchange rate used as the basis for settlement is the daily spot rate of the relevant foreign currency in the international market against the US Dollar as of the previous business day's closing, multiplied by the Rupiah-to-USD exchange rate as established in this decree.

Dictum THREE affirms that this Minister's Decree takes effect from 12 August 2026 to 18 August 2026. This decree was established in Jakarta on 10 August 2026 and signed on behalf of the Minister of Finance by the Director of Economic Stabilization Strategy, Noor Faisal Achmad, and was distributed to the Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Finance, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Director General of Taxes, Director General of Customs and Excise, and Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy.
